The National Advanced Functional Fiber Innovation Center is the 13th national-level manufacturing innovation center in the country officially approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on June 25, 2019. Since its establishment, the Innovation Center has established a “birthplace” for key core technologies in the fiber industry, a “gathering place” for scientific and technological innovation resources, and scientific research in the fields of new fiber materials, high-tech textiles, intelligent manufacturing, and green manufacturing. Smart fibers and products are not only a technology but an industry, and will have broad application fields in health monitoring, medical care, sports training, etc. in the future. To this end, the innovation center proposes that during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, it will focus on the development and research of the application of special fibers in smart textiles. Textile performance testing and evaluation system, research and development of smart wearable textiles and other home textiles with functions of temperature sensing, photosensitive, detection, etc., break through key technologies for the preparation of key smart clothing and apparel and home textiles, and initially establish an industrial chain of related products.
